The Department of Religious Studies and Classics at the University of Arizona in Tucson invites applications for a one-year visiting lecturer in Classics (full time, with benefits) for the 2025-2026 academic year. Candidates at the ABD level will be considered for the position at the rank of visiting instructor. The successful candidate will teach General Education courses for a diverse undergraduate student population.
The department seeks applicants prepared to teach a broad range of introductory-level undergraduate courses in Classics, including courses in classical mythology and Greek and Roman civilizations. The tentative teaching schedule for Fall 2025 includes two sections of classical mythology, one section of an introductory classical civilizations course, and an online course (with the online content already in place).
