The Department of Classics at Princeton University seeks to hire a Lecturer in Roman History for the 2025-26 academic year. Responsibilities will include leading CLA 219: The Roman Empire, 21 B.C. to A.D. 337 in the Fall 2025 semester, which entails designing lectures, running precept sections, grading student work, and holding weekly office hours. The successful candidate should also be comfortable teaching courses in Latin language and should have a demonstrated ability to succeed in the setting of a large undergraduate lecture course. Final duty time will be subject to departmental need and student enrollments, and the appointment may be for one or two semesters, with an expected start date of September 1, 2025. PhD preferred. Expected Salary Range: $81,700 - $90,000

The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
