COGSIP, the Committee On Gender and Sexuality In the Profession, is hosting an open house on August 27, 2025, from 7 to 8 pm CDT (Central Daylight Time), to boost awareness of mentoring opportunities in Classical Studies/ancient world studies. Representatives from various groups will present at this open house, and we will invite ideas from audience members for new sorts of mentorship that might be offered in the future. This event will be held online, over Zoom, and is open to all members of the SCS community and affiliates.
Mentorship is one of the most valuable things offered by the various organizations that service the diverse membership of the SCS. Now more than ever, the work of our lives depends on connections we can build between people of different generations and levels of expertise.

In particular, we wish graduate students who may not yet be part of the SCS to become aware of mentoring opportunities and to attend in order to express their mentoring needs.
