General Information for All Annual Meetings
Every winter, the Society for Classical Studies holds a joint meeting with the Archaeological Institute of America. In addition to the presentation of individual papers and panels, features of the annual meeting include an exhibit hall for browsing and purchasing the latest books from a variety of publishers; roundtable discussion sessions; dramatic performances by the Committee on Ancient and Modern Performance; meetings and receptions of affiliated groups; and much more.

Update 3/15/24:
The SCS Program Committee is happy to announce a slight extension to the deadline for submissions for the Annual Meeting in 2025 (January 2-5, Philadelphia). Please note that all submissions are now due by the end of Sunday, April 7th 11.59pm EDT.
We look forward to reading your proposals for panels, seminars, workshops, and roundtables as well as for individual abstracts, lightning talks, and poster sessions. In particular we invite submissions for more interactive sessions such as seminars, workshops and roundtables, which have been increasing over the past few years, helping us create a more dynamic and inclusive program. 2025 Annual Meeting: SCS Abstract and Proposal Submission System is Open Closed
We are pleased to announce that the SCS Abstract and Proposal submission system is now open and can be found via the link below:

Upon accessing the submission system, please read in their entirety the instructions found on the landing page. There you will find important information pertaining to the requirements for making a submission, plus links to guidelines and other resources from our program committee on submitting a proposal for the Annual Meeting.
Deadline
The deadline for submitting ALL proposals for the 2025 Annual Meeting is now Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 11:59 P.M. (ET). That includes:
- Individual abstracts
- Lightning talks
- Panel, Committee Panel, Workshop, Seminar, and Roundtable Proposals
- Affiliated Group Panel Reports (All affiliated groups wanting to submit a panel should select this category)
- Already approved Organizer-Refereed Reports
- New charter applications for affiliated groups, and charter renewals for existing affiliated groups
- New organizer-refereed panel proposals for the 2026 meeting

To access this site, you must be a member of the Society for 2024, and know and have access to the primary email address (profile address) associated with your member account. To check your membership status and email account on file, go to your profile at https://scs.press.jhu.edu/membership/log-in
Once you know your member email, you can proceed to the program site.
