The Classics and Religious Studies Departments at Hamilton College invite applications for a one-semester visiting position in religions of Late Antiquity at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning January 1, 2023. We seek candidates to teach three courses: New Testament (in translation); a combined 200- and 300-level Ancient Greek course; and one course of the instructor’s choosing appropriate for cross-listing in both departments. The successful candidate will be housed in the department most suitable to their training and expertise. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address ways in which you raise issues of diversity in your teaching, scholarship, and/or service.

Candidates with ABD will be considered, although candidates with a PhD are preferred. Please submit cover letter, CV, and the syllabus for one of the courses that you would teach if hired for this position. Candidates should upload materials to interfolio at http://apply.interfolio.com/110998.

Questions regarding the search may be directed to Anne Feltovich and/or Quincy D. Newell, Search Committee Co-Chairs, at afeltovi@hamilton.edu and qnewell@hamilton.edu, respectively. Our review of applications will begin on September 1, 2022.
