Academic Assistant, 50% position (TVL-E13)

A seven-month position as academic assistant (50%, TVL-E13) will open on 1 March 2024 in the Department of Medieval and Early Modern Latin at the Friedrich-Alexander University at Erlangen-Nuremberg. We are seeking a junior scholar in medieval studies, among other areas, with a completed university degree, very good data processing and English abilities, experience in teams and a willingness to take on responsibility. The work locations are Erlangen and Nuremberg.

Qualifications

• completed university degree in a discipline within medieval studies (a degree in the area of medieval Latin philology is desirable)
• experience in managing and organizing workshops, conferences, and exhibitions
• excellent communication abilities in dealing with participants and visitors of academic events and exhibitions
• experience in public relations and project management
• excellent German and English, both spoken and written
• solid familiarity with electronic data processing and management
• a high degree of creativity and innovation, goal orientation, organization, engagement, flexibility, reliability and team cooperation

Desired Qualifications

• good knowledge of Latin
• knowledge of other foreign languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian)
