The Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Assistant Professor of Practice in Classics to begin in spring 2024. We seek applicants with a Ph.D. in Classics (or related field) in hand at the time of appointment, a demonstrated record of pedagogical innovation and excellence in teaching, and a passion for program building and curricular renewal. In addition to these required qualifications, candidates who have additional experience teaching large lecture courses such as Classical Mythology and Ancient Sport and Spectacle are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities will consist of teaching three courses per semester, managing and growing our beginning and intermediate Latin and Greek language sequences, and training and coordinating our MA-level TA instructors.
