The Department of Classics at Davidson College invites applications for a one-year position at the Visiting Assistant Professor level with a start date of July 1, 2024. Completion or imminent completion of the Ph.D. in classics or a closely related field is required, and undergraduate teaching experience is preferred. The department welcomes candidates who are invested in language pedagogy and who have demonstrated enthusiasm for and expertise in Latin and Greek literature. The teaching assignment will consist of two courses in Latin, one in Greek, one in translation, and a first-year writing course on a topic of the instructor’s choice.
