The Department of Classics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami is seeking applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach three courses per semester during Fall 2024 – Spring 2025. A Ph.D. in Classics or a related discipline is required by the starting date of the appointment, August 15, 2024. At least one year’s experience in college-level teaching is preferred. Duties include teaching undergraduate courses in Latin and/or Greek and/or English translation as well as courses in Classical culture (special interest in Greek and Roman medicine, etymology, or environmental humanities is welcome), and participating in various departmental activities.

Actual offers are contingent upon need and available funding.
