The Department of World Languages, Literatures, & Cultures invites applicants for the position of an Instructor of Classics who can teach the beginning and intermediate language sequences in Latin and Greek as well as lower-division courses in classical civilization. The Classics program at LSU is a vibrant and growing unit in the Department of World Languages, Literatures, & Cultures and participates in interdisciplinary dialogue with the departments of History, Political Science, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and the Ogden Honors College.

Candidates with experience in language pedagogy are especially welcome to apply as are those who have assisted in organizing undergraduate classics clubs or chapters of Eta Sigma Phi. Preference will be given to those who hold a Ph.D. degree in Classics or anticipate completion of the degree by May/June 2024, but those who hold the MA are welcome to apply. The position will commence in Fall semester 2024.
